Student Rug Design Competition

The annual GoodWeave Rug Design Competition is now announced for 2012 and full details on how to enter are provided below. This year the theme is 'Retro Funk' with two mood boards, a colour palette and a written brief for students to use for inspiration.

This is the fifth time this prestigious competition has run and we are fortunate to have two sponsors: WovenGround and Jacaranda Carpets; both are GoodWeave Partners and active supporters of the work that GoodWeave does internationally to eradicate the exploitation of children in the production of rugs.

The competition is open to full-time, UK design students, aged 18 or over and all entries need to be in by May 18th 2012. The winning designs will be on display at the prestigious Decorex International Exhibition in September, where the winning students will be given a wonderful opportunity to promote their talents; the winner will also receive a £300 design fee.
