Children's Stories

When Sarina, who hails from Nepal’s Chitwan district, was 10 years old, her mother died from cancer. The family fell into utter poverty; just  being able to afford two meals a day was difficult.  Sarina was forced to drop out of school and work in a carpet factory.

A GoodWeave inspector rescued Sarina from the carpet factory in 2007 and brought her to Hamro Ghar, Nepal GoodWeave’s rehabilitation center. Sarina is now a diligent and disciplined eight grader at Laboratory Higher Secondary School.
